The National Fund Meets United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO”

The Board Chairman of Kuwait National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Dr. Mohammed Al- Zuhair met with the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Lee Young, at the headquarter of the fund. The meeting came in the occasion of the recent official visit of Mr. Young to Kuwait; during which he addressed methods to enhance areas of cooperation between the two entities.

Al- Zuhair stated in a press statement that this meeting came within a designated visit program, for the Director-General of Organization (UNIDO) to Kuwait. Where methods of joint cooperation between the Fund and Organization were discussed. 
Al- Zuhair also stressed that the fund is constantly on quest to encourage the private sector and increase its participation in the development of the national economy; in accordance with the state’s orientations. In an intent to achieve the objectives of the development plan. 
The Director-General of the Organization (UNIDO) Lee Yong has expressed, in a previous interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA,) the importance of expanding the existing collaborations between the State of Kuwait and the organization, to include further new concepts that ought to benefit Kuwait and its people. Furthermore, he referred to the demands of the state; which are focused on partnership, youth employment, and strengthening the export capabilities of small and medium enterprises. Which are aimed to reinforce the national system of innovation.
It’s noteworthy that the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have contributed in upgrading the institutional capacity of Kuwait Export Development Centre. So that it can provide various services for small and medium-sized enterprises that are export-oriented
